Parents have asked me what they can help their children with at home in the area of Maths.
The following are some of the aspects of Maths that we are working on in class.
It would be wonderful reinforcement of the children's learning, to practice some of these at home.
1. Counting sets of objects up to 10 and then 20.
2. Counting from 1 - 10 and then backwards.
3. Counting from 1 - 20 and then backwards.
4. What is the next number after ...? Start with numbers 1 - 10. Work up to numbers to 20.
5. What number comes before ...? Start with numbers 1 - 10. Work up to numbers to 20.
6. Number identification - start with numbers 1 - 10. Work up to numbers up to 20 and then up to 100.
7. Order numbers from 0- 20.
8. Order numbers from 20 - 0.
9. Match numbers to objects.
10. Solve addition and subtraction problems by counting all the objects.
Maths can be so much fun.!
Use your imagination to come up with games that incorporate the above learning.
