Room 4 Photograph Gallery
A collection of photographs showing children's learning.
Below are the categories in Room 4 Photograph Gallery.
Self Portraits
Can you tell who we are??? We have been learning to paint self-portraits. We observed our faces closely with the help of mirrors. We are learning to draw all our facial features and to put them in the correct place. We have explored how to mix paints together to make colours that are similar to our own features.
Where the Wild Things Are
We read the story and acted it out to music. Here are the chalk portraits of our very own wild things. We listed the things they liked to eat and used action words to describe the things they liked to do.
Caterpillars
We have been learning about the life cycle of the Monarch Butterfly. We read the Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle and researched his art techniques on the internet. We created our very own Eric Carle style caterpillars, aren't they wonderful?
Learning Walls
Classroom walls contain many different examples of learning. These walls change over the year and this folder will contain various snapshots of our walls throughout the year.
Autumn Leaves
We have been watching all of the leaves changing colours and falling off the trees. We collected some and sketched their different shapes. We wanted to show the colours of our leaves so we painted a background yellow, dabbed it with orange and brown paint, scrunched it up when dry and rubbed over with black pastel to create the final effect. Come in and see them up on our wall.
Quilting
We had a visit from our own quilting specialist Alison. Look at some of her fabulous quilts. We are now going to try and make our own.
Flyaway Katie Collage and Paint Pictures
Katie is all alone and feeling grey. The birds in the picture on the wall look so colourful - if only Katie could be as bright as them, who knows what might happen...? Look at our magical, colourful, birds. We painted our birds first then used red card to make the legs and head details. Next we used different patterned paper to decorate them. The eyes were created by cutting out three different sized circles and layering them one on top of the other to add depth.
2009 Memories
A collection of final snapshots of our classroom for 2009. Well done to all of our marvellous contributors.
